Are these what you all would catagorize as a T5? I have a friend with an Impreza STI, and he popped the hood.. I was shocked!! It was a flat 4 (never knew that) and it looked like it just might fit nicely unter the deck of my fastback..

The Type 5 is a wasserboxer modified to run air cooled cylinders and heads, tin, ect...

I guess I'm more into staying all VW. Conversions are cool, I won't beat anyone down for doing one...

well down here in Oz we have had Subaru WRX's and other older models like liberties for quite a while. Subaru has used a watercooled flat 4 for a while now. Alfa Romeo also used a flat 4 as well.

The EJ20T in a WRX fits into a bug but u have to cut the body to make way for the DOHC heads. The sump runs quite low as well so u lose a fair bit of ground clearance if u dont modify it. But other than that, the EJ20T is 200HP in STOCK form, and there is a huge market for improving that!
