af meter

i read on here awhile back on how to use a multimeter on a
af sender to give teh mix
search fuction isnt giving me anything
i was hopeing someone could explain how to do this

All oxygen sensors put off the same voltage at different a/f ratios. If you can find the sensor curve some place, you hook your voltmeter to the sensor and voila, you have an A/F ratio monitor.

EDIT: You're shooting for .5 volts, higher is rich (up to 1 volt), lower is lean.

i know a guy down near potosi
that has every make and model of acvw made
well maybe not every one but he has alot of stuff
couldnt even count the motor blocks he has

you will want 500mv at idle or cruise ONLY...at WOT you will want somewhere around 800-900. Remember...a narrow band O2 is not as accurate as a wide band O2...this will give you a ballpark setting for your fuel system. I have used a narroe band many times with good results....and a wide band gives you GREAT results..
