has anybody ever heard of this being done?
- a friend of mine who works at napa told me that people put the rocker panel plugs in, pull the door plugs, fill the interior space (inside the panels) will oil (like oil undercoating, but inside,) and then drain in by pulling out the bottom plugs again. this is a new one to my ears. i always thought that you wait until rust forms, then curse, curse some more, get a six pack, and ponder the current situation at hand. at least that is how i like to go about fixing problems with my thing.

Yes, this is something that was done years ago! Didn't think anyone still did that!
It was not unusal to find some attempting to restore a vehicle to do just as you described! Did it help? <shrugging shoulders> I really can't answer. I just keep thinking of the oil and EPA showing up at my house and handing me a clean up bill!

so long as you keep it under 100 gallons the EPA can't do jack

ZIEBART had a similar process they did it to new cars with no rust and to rusty cars it was supposed to stop the rust. The stuff wasn't oily as much as sticky and gooey.

many people use boiled linseed oil to do this and i think that is what your thinking of. everyone i've talked to loves it.
