FS? Vanagon Syncro

Post by VWGirl »

Anyone interested in buying one... I think all that is wrong with it is the fuel pump... it is not mine but has been sitting at my place over 6 months now and needs to leave within the next two... if someone is interested maybe i can get the owner to send me the title finally...

I'm looking for a Syncro or at least the drive train, but its soooooooo far away, what do you think i'd have to pay for it, ballpark? Might be worth it, but i doubt it. :(

I will try and get in touch with the owner this weekend... no telling what state he is in... it is really a good van, he used to drive it all the time... he had actually parked it because of a water leak... then he finally got around to fixing that and the fuel pump went out... If i didnt already have a car payment i would buy it and use it as is... of course those syncro parts ARE expensive...

I looked up the value of the van in kelly blue book and it was about $4000... that would be of course if it had the fuel pump (somewhere between $200-300?).... it all depends on how bad you want it I guess? too bad you werent interested when I first posted as my boyfriend just moved to spokane... we could have fixed it and drive it maybe? hmmmm.... i will talk to the owner and let you know (lets hope I can find him! his jpb requires lots of travel and every time i talk to him he is in a different place... to give you an idea... the van was purchased in Maine... it now sports arkansas tags, but is sitting here in my parking lot in florida! it gets around!)

Wish I was in Florida...
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I looked at this van Tuesday............kinda rough, transmission is fine. I got it to run after about 3 hours of fiddling, but only to find exhaust gas present in the coolant tank ( I have a snap on tester for that) so I did no t buy it...............but did take it on a run and shifted thru the gears. Tranny is fine. Diff lock switch is broke, so unable to test that............
