rim color?

What is the stock rim color for a 73 Thing? Is it silver, black or white?

I have found just about every color applied to Thing wheels. Black is a color found on several unrestored cars, but I have not seem any car or picture of cars sold with black wheels other than the first production car (oct 1970) from Mexico. White wheels were only used on Acapulcos. As far as I know the stock color is greyish aluminum whith chrome hubcaps for 73 and 74 Things. For 73 on Safaris the hubcaps were of the same color of the wheels.

I stripped 6 of them and all of them had silver under the black paint. The unmolested one at the thing shop has silver wheels.
