In the middle of rebuilding a 72 Super from pretty much the ground up. I've picked a lot of info by reading this site! Here are the parts my brother and I already bought to build an engine:
-Full flow aluminum case bored out to allow 90.5/92mm cylinders and a stroked crank
-dual Weber 44 IDFs
-AJ Sims Level 6 Heads
We intend to build a 82x90.5 (2110cc) engine. Since this is our first attempt, we were thinking of just going with the Volkstroker II to simplify some of the choices we need to make. Obviously there are trade offs in doing this, but I figured it'd make some things easier.
So my question, is there any reason why we may regret this choice vs. buying all the internals seperately? The only issue I have read on this forum is with the SCAT cast crank, but the Volkstroker II has a forged crank.
If it makes a difference, I was thinking of running a medium to mild cam with 1.25 rockers all around 8:1 compression.
And the big question: what's the probability of getting into the 150hp range with this setup?
