2.1 Piston pics?

Post by Pillow »

Anyone have a head to head er, piston to piston comparison from the 2.1 low comp piston to the 2.1 high comp piston (euro?)?

I have a set of low compression 2.1 pistons so I can get a picture posted of them, but need to see the difference on the high compression piston to see if they will work in a WBX conversion. Might go with a T4 2.0 piston if I can figure the pin height.

fun fun fun!

Thanks,

Adrian,

What happened to your Oxy motor project?

Didn't Jake machine a case for you?

Did you guys give up?

I actually just got back to it yesterday. I had to think a little more before starting in on her ;)

I let it sit for like 6 months. Now back to work.

Still need to take some measurements and figure out what I want to do. Still on the fence on pistons, lifters/cam, and heads. A lot of variables to say the least.

One big shift was that I am going back to the CIS FI project on this motor. Ditching the Solex 40P11s with big valve heads idea. They are really cool carbs, but I really like CIS and it will be more efficient... Now where did the FI forum go!

Really most of the brain frying design work will be around the CIS on the T5 motor. Hopefully I can take some pics to post to give an idea of the torment.

On a bright note I did get some 1/4" flat aluminum sheet to make some mounting flanges out of for some CIS parts. Gotta love the recycling yards.

Enough ramble from me, but I will be tearing into the meat of this sooner than later.

Take Care,

Nope, no giving up here, just taking some time to get things done right. Learning and logging down what I find and what I do.
