"Product Reviews" Forum

Post by Asian Mike »

Another forum could be the "Product Reviews" forum. Someone could do a detailed review of a product, or even pull an article about that product with permission of course, and after the initial post, everyone else could share their experience, knowledge, and recommendations. There could even be a poll with the post asking if the user recommends, does not recommend, or is unbiased towards the product (only if they have experience, even though there's no way to police this, honesty is appreciated). I think this would be really helpful as it would get rid of the guesswork of getting a part. The poll could have multiple questions asking about the reliability, quality, price, etc...

There should be sub-forums for the forums. Not a lot, just a few. Like for this forum: Product Reviews ---I>Distributors ---I> 1)Mallory 2)Bosch
It would be also helpful if there was a drop down menu to allow a user to arrange forums to display by brand, product, etc. if they wish. The format of STF could stay as it is right now, but if the user wants something more organized, they can opt by arranging the posts by topic.

I'm all for a product review forum. It would be difficult at best to put in sub-forums so that would be a no go. But a product forum might be a good idea.

Yeah, none of the other forums have sub-forums, and I do think it'd be difficult trying to reorganize everything to fit in a category. Way too many posts already, but possibly in the future, if at all, you could set this site up so that before someone makes a new post, they have to choose and decide under what category it would fit under, sort of like the search command on thesamba. Subforums makes everything more neat and tidy, but the site is pretty good now, so it's not a big deal. Just makes life simpler.
