I can't speak for the other brands of shifters, but I bought the GBE 6710-LK locking shifter for my 181 and never regretted it. The fit and quality is superb. I figure my THING is my own investment, only as good as what I put into it. I have other Berg engine pieces I'm saving for my next engine. I hate to admit it but I also got the old vs new shifter handle that's contoured for your palm and I love it.
