Thing fanshroud on Ebay

I know this isn't a classifieds forum... but, I have Thing shroud for auction right now! Reserve is $40.

I can clean it up a little better if needed. I just found this item in my parts stash the other day! It still has the original paint (as far as I can tell). I have many more T1 and T4 parts available!

Really? I don't doubt you, I just have never seen a shroud like this at all. I saw a Thing shroud on ebay not too long ago that looked exactly like this one (as far as I could tell). I'm not 100% sure, I replaced this shroud with a standard T1 shroud when I rebuilt the engine (to use heater boxes), it came out of a bug. So, this is for an industrial engine? It does have all the correct OEM vanes and deflectors... so I don't think it could be an 80's Scat shroud or something..

That looks like a Thing shroud to me, but Chris V. might know something that I don't, as I'm no expert or anything.

Its not a Thing shroud. And its not a German industrial shroud. All the Pumas I've seen here in Canada have heaterboxes, so I doubt that either.
I do know its made in Brazil. Could be a Brazilian Puma shroud. Or a Brazilian industrial shroud. Those shrouds were being brought in back in the mid 80s.

Something Claude's Buggies (now CBPerformance) was importing, I don't know for sure what they were for either but those guesses sound plausible. There was also a perverse oil cooler arrangement available that used a singleport-style cooler on an adapter to put it outside the shroud, you might check to see if this shroud has room for a normal doghouse cooler and fan or if it takes that bastard setup.
Berg referred to it briefly:
"The dog house oil cooler and bigger fan (100 CFM more air that will not fit most aftermarket fan housings) set-up introduced in 1971 proved superior in all tests by as much as 70 degrees F over aftermarket coolers or fan housings. It is even superior to the one that is made and imported from VW of Brazil that uses the smaller early steel oil cooler rather than the bigger aluminum cooler we normally see in the USA. This is partly because the fan that fits the genuine VW dog housings is wider and supplies far more air."
