Hi my names Andy and I live in Derbyshire, England. What a suprise to come accross such a great site with a message board dedecated to the 411/412 !
I currently own a 72 type 2 pannel van which I use as a daily driver, and a 69 bug sat in the garage. My partner Dawn drives a 2000 new Beetle, but our pride and joy is our 1969 411. Its the 4 door model in dark green, we're they fourth owners from new. It has a cream over black interior with Simpson harnesess, it sits on Porsche 914 4 stud Fuch rims and has only got 42000 on the clock !
The car is in very original condition and has had no welding at all which is very suprising because as you all know it rains quite a bit here in England !
Unfortunatly she's off the road at the moment after dropping a valve the week after passing it's M.O.T ( Ministry Of Transport ) inspection !
It's great to see that there are still fans of the 411/412's over in America. The VW scene over here is still very large but the numbers of 411/412's are very low, I've been told that there is only three cars in the U.K that are the same model and year as ours.
Anyway got to go,
keep on dubbing !
Andy

Welcome.
I was stationed in Birkinhead at the Old Camel Laird shipyards opening up a Auto Assembly plan for a while in 97 and was lucky enough to attend a large gathering near London on one of the weekends. The 411 / 412 crowd was it's usually sparse self when I was there !!! And yes, they looked pretty rough too !
The 'ol Vauhhall Cavalier I had put on some serious mileage that weekend. I drove down to that place that build fiberglass beetle shells ( Wizard or something like that ), 4.5 hours, found out about the show, drove back to Birkinhead, then drove all the way back down the next day ! Wow !! Glad I wasn't paying for Petrol .....

By the way, Ray is then man on this site. He's probably owned every different T4 you can think of and there isn't too much he doesn't know, where to source, what to use as replacement, what to get, what the problem is, etc etc ...
I have limited knowledge myself but surrounded here with my Cousin who owns about 8 of them, mostly 411 sedans and one 412 .... All are in pretty rough shape .....
