turbo city's kits i heard are ok if you plan on running it on the street, (which seems fine in your case) but aj's kit is nice, $200 more but ceramic coated. i've heard nothing but good things about the kit, i've had him work on a few sets of kads and if it were me, i would go with his kit, not only is it the most complete kit i've heard heard, but he's the type of person that will go the extra mile to help somebody out. he has my busness.

Hi,
Just my two cents worth. I bought a turbo kit from A.J. Simms and am pleased with the results. The kit is very complete and was easy to install. A.J. has helped me out to fine tune it and has always answered all of my questions. I researched for a long time before I got the kit and found the Low Bugget kit to be the most complete kit for the money. Top notch stuff and you can't beat the service.

I've been to AJ's shop and have seen his system in the flesh. It's an amazing feat of plumbing!

Fits under a stock hood, works as advertised, and is a helluva value all things considered (fit, thoroughness of kit, quality of parts, after sale support, etc).

Besides, AJ is a wunnerful help to the hobby and a great guy to boot.

ok so it seems for someone on a budget AJ's kit is the one to go with

thanks everyone

anyone have any imput on CB's FI/turbo kit, i know that its far from complete, its pricy, and it has a few other downers but is it worth it for the performance and its ability to be put on engines from 1600 -2332 "or so i think"?

thanks again

Racer,
I friend bought the buggy version (plumbing is different) of the CB FI/Turbo kit and loves its performance...that said, he will not buy one again because of all the problems he's had with the install and setup. Because the kit was incomplete and was very difficult to install and set-up, (he could not get it to work and is very mechanically inclined) he ended up spending several thousand dollars and a few weeks to have it installed and tuned by a professional...hardly a bargain. He's had it several months and only recently got it dialed in...he's run a best of 13.9 (quarter mile) in a manx style buggy with the turbo mounted on a 2110...not too shabby.

He also mentioned that he initially got good customer service from CB but as his problems mounted and the more parts he found that the kit was missing (and had to order), the customer service dropped off dramatically and he had a hard time getting any results from them.

Just one experience...I've heard CB is generally good.

2 grand doesn't seem very budget to me. :(
Where could I get a turbo to run on my stock 1600 SP? and a turbo manfoild? How much would it run. I understand a member turbo'd his 1600SP and he got like 3 psi boost. How muc HP is that equal to you think? Also where can I find out wtf a blow thru turbo is etc online? I pretty much hate reading books, but if it's on the computer I like it better. Oh and how much does one look on spending to get DP heads, or to get his Sp heads ported to have near the same flow as DP heads?

I am running AJ Sims personal "Street Car" motor in our manx and testing at Irwindale last week it ran 7.80@83 mph on a 100 deg day and jetting was WAY off. So yeah AJ all the Way. Also what everyone else already said, he one stand up guy. :D
