My new vintage racer bumpers!

I designed these vintage racer style bumpers from pictures of a 1965 Shelby Cobra. They are called "jack pads" and were designed for road course sports cars that sat too low to slide a jack underneath during a pit stop. Instead they put the jack under the jack pad to lift the car. Im putting them on a 1974 Standard Beetle being restored as a Herbie style vintage racer. I modified the stock bumper seals to fit the new jack pads.

I would love to hear your opinions

Very nice looking. Are they strong enough to be functional for lifting? How much? Again, nice job!!

This pair is made out of 1/4" stainless steel. I think that 1/2" would probably be thick enough for functional use as jack pads. Mine are purely cosmetic. Oh and I got the for 0$, I designed the prints and my neighbor had them machined and laser cut at his job FOC(Free of Charge!).

The more I look at them the more I like them mainly because its something different.
