vanagon radio ?

I changed my battery in my 87 vanagon and dont have a radio manual to figure out the damn safe code.anyone know how to do this or have a manual?

You have to go to the dealer and get them to match up the VIN with the radio and pay them to tell you the code. I went through this with my Jetta .....
