Hi All,
Well I have been trying to get a VW thing for ages now and have had no luck. There don't seem to be very many down here in Australia. So I had to settle for the Australian version which is a Country Buggy. I just picked one of these up and am looking at a rebuild.
Ain't she pretty :D

It is missing the Country Buggy running gear though so I am after some Thing spindles and arms to build a new one, can anyone out there help me ??

Cheers,

Brad

Yep I still have my Buggies, the V6 Conversion is planned for Christmas early next year.

Wes and I are doing well, his V6 Baja is almost 100% sorted and ready for the climate control upgrade.

My plans for this little babby are as a work ute. It will get some 215 x 75 x 15 fronts and 31 x 10.5 x 15 rears. A type 181 front end I am getting off one of the good guys on here and an IRS rear end with type 2 transmission. Have selected a 2L Nissan engine to keep the power up and tow all my crap around.

One day I hope to find a real thing but until then I will have to make do with the Boxy Aussie version.

Brad I`ve always thought the blue buggy looks short. Is the body shortened as well as the pan? Good luck. Bob ingman

The Blue buggy ... I am guessing you mean my Manx ..Image

It is a stock Manx, type 181 front end, IRS rear end. I have moved the frame head fwd 1" to allow the 215 x 75 x 15 to clear on full lock.

With the hard top it looked very short. Where did the 181 front beam come from? I know they are rare there in Australia. Good luck. Bob Ingman

I am buying the 181 arms and spindles from the good old US of A..

I don't think I would have a hope in hell of getting any here.
