I have felt a vacuum leak before and it has kind of a SHAKE to it, instead of a bouncey rolling type of idle.
Clean gas tank new filters new fuel lines (except the long plastic ones) new carbs and on more than one occasion something (looked like a sliver of Redwood) got lodged in the number one idle jet. (happened twice to the same jet). Those happenings made it feel as though it was running out of gas.
There is definitely a slight VIBRATION at @ 2000 and just before. My original rebuilt did not do that.
If jetting the carbs fouled the plugs will getting the jetting right eventually clean the plugs?

Remove Aircleaners rev motor up, hold at 3000 rpm, take a rag and block off air flow into carb, The vacuum will dislogde any crud in the jets. Steve
