Forr 411 and412...in general, all of the parts are valuable. There are "0" parst manufactured for these cars...save for engine parts and some weitches and bearings. As for what you could make on them? Hard to say. Most people who work on 411/412...cannot afford to drop lots of dollars for one assembly or another. There is just too much to be done in the restoration of a car that has no parts available. I have over 12,000 in mine and its primer with no interior. But...list what you have...and usually someone will offer something fair wether they need it immediately or not. Ehat year 411's? 2 door? 4 door? wagon? automatic? Standard? What do you call totalled? Ray

411 parts
If you have a pair of not-rusted-out heater boxes you would be willing to part with I'll give you $50 for them. 3 years with no heat in my '66 912 (2.2 liter T4) is too much....

Yes that`s right ray . I sent you a message a few dasy ago telling you how I was ready to buy a set off thesamba . When I got photos the flange was triangle three hole. I did`nt even know about that. The flange I need is the common three hole ( one up two down) that is same as bus. Good luck. Bob Ingman

I will gladly check for that piece. I don't even have that piece. I came to the conclusion long ago, that even if I had one...unless I plastic coated it...say with something like bed liner or fiberglass, it would not live through the codensation we get in the cold months. It's one of my back burner projects to produce either a heat bent lexan version....or a cast rubber one....something. It will not be a replica. It will simply look good, and be functional. That cover houses the center vent thatgoes to the little side vents on the rear quarter area. Its designed as part of a flow through ventilation system. It actually works pretty well.
The system is designed to do several things. (1) with the crooked edge on the front drivers glass....which is in lieu of a vent window, it allows draft free ventilation while driving with the heater on. (2) it also helps to de-moisturize the rear glass. (3) it pulls smoke/fumes along the headliner, down the back glass and out the side vents.
The way this works...is to crack the front window....just so the "ground" area leaves a "slot" shaped gap. It pulls heat off the floor faster...and vents it through that cardbaord cover to a tube at each end in the body. In case you ever wondered why the windows have that funny shape to them...there it is. Ray
