seats

Post by mstatedog »

Finally got my thing home. After fighting @@@@ roaches and leaves....I removed the seats....they're trashed as well as the passenger side seat rails. Looks like someone took a hammer to them to get them to move on the rails. I bought some 16 gauge floor pans from action imports ($110/ea without seat rails). The stamp pattern appears to be the same as my original pans. My question is: are the seats and rails the same as an early model bug?

Yes same rails.....

Bucket Seats or pre 67 low backs all fit the rails.

Are the tracks (on the floor pan) the same as the ones on a bug? Height-wise...? Angle?

I need some to weld to my new pans....and the bug rails are cheaper...

locate some donor rails from a bug or thing... the aftermarket import rails are AH-W-FULL... you'll spend more time playing around with them to get them straight... then they'll crumble.

Most Aircooled shops will have some sitting in donor cars or in their scrap heap.

Knowing how things are (I'm still learning) the seat rails are probably more like a Ghia than a bug.

It is my understanding if memory serves correctly that the rails and mounts are the same as flat window super beetle (71-72). Best of luck. Bob Ingman
