I think that's one of those Zwitter "S" hoods.

Didn't follow the whole thread on the crash, I know alot of work went into the VTECH This.
Sorry to see such a mess, but it looks workable!

If the frame head and beam are straight, it wouldn't be too difficult to put on a fiberglass front.
Just don't hack off the front quarter panels. Leave some skin there until your absolutely sure how the front end "arc" will be when tilted. Have someone weld on and fab a bracket for the hinging mechanism. You?ll also need to glass in the mating hinge and reinforce it with more glass. This is what I did on my brothers Ghia, after a crash and it came out pretty good, or, someone has a hinge kit.
If the A pilar is bent and the doors a real misaligned then you'll need to seek a real body man to check it out.
You could always part it out, ge tmore for it that way, or save all the peices and find a shell.
Only you can decide if it?s worth it.

You can buy it and make it a baja, but I would NEVER ever take an early (pre 67) beetle and make it a baja

It is a 62 ragtop. Of course the wheels and disk brakes are not included. nor the Scat seats.
