rear drum & brake line

Are the rear drums a "thing only" part...or will an early model bug drum work. I think I remember reading that the stub axle is beefed up and has a larger diameter at the splines.

Also, I need to replace the steel brake line from front to rear. Will the line that is sold for the bug work? Is the distance the same?

dog,

ETKA lists the thing brake line as 2180mm. the beetle one (also fits most other acvw) is 2172mm. i used it on my thing recently and it seemed to fit fine.

you are correct about the rear drums, they are a thing only part.
