Looks nice, but loose the BIG tach until you get the 2017 installed.

Yeah well I figure that if I install it now I dont have to do it later. It does seem weird having a big tach and little engine, but I like it.

Should I add 45 Dells as one? Those would be nice to have. And I figure this is my first bug and I'm 17, I will look back ten years from now and say "what was I thinking?". But I like the big tach, its gives you that race car feel. And I will definitely have pics of my engine when I start.

This page is for the engine which is probably one of the next things I'm going to mess with. I'm building a 2017cc @ the shop I work at, Classic Camber here in St.Pete.

Case: New AS41 Brazil cut for 90.5 holes, tapped for full flow
Crank: Scat forged 78.4mm Nitrited Counter Weighted Crank
Piston and Cylinders: Mahle 90.5's
Rods: Scat 5.394" I-Beam Rods with ARP 220's
Cam: Web-Cam #110
Cam Gears: Straight Cuts
Lifters: Scat lift-a-lube
Pushrods: 3/8 Chromoly Pushrods
Pushrod Tubes: stock style
Flywheel: 12 lbs German Forged Flywheel
Pressure Plate: Kennedy 1700 Lbs
Clutch Disc: Diakin Metal Woven Clutch Disc
Pully: Degreed aluminum pully
Rockers: 1.1 rockers
Oil Pump Cover: Berg pressure relief
Oil Pump: Shadek 26mm
Oil Cooler: Type 4
Heads: Aircooled.net heads level 5
Header: 1 5/8 Merged Header
Muffler: Magnaflow
Ignition: 009 with Compu-fire
Plug Wires: Bosch
Carburators: Dual....you give me an opinion
Compression: 8.0:1
I'd go with dual Dellorto DLRA 45s.

Weber 48 IDA won't add any performance and increase the total buildup cost. But they do look awesome.

I just put the IDA's on there for the hell of it. I do like the way they look though, very impressive set-up. So what would be a good price for a dual 45 Dell set-up?

There's a pair on ebay... current price is $310, but i'm sure they'll go for more. Also they don't include manifolds, air cleaners or linkage.

Cool, Thanks. And I think I might have to do that tip that you put down in the new forum.

Thats and awesome looking bug man. Just wondering, did you buy those turn signal lenses black? are they tinted? and if so, how'd you do it?

Well unfortunately some moron backed into my hood and I am now going to do all of the body work that it needs, german-look conversion and re-paint it. I bought the turnsignals from ebay.

Nice car..

And I have a 5" tach with shift light and a berg shifter... my car still has the 1500 in it.. hopefully next summer it will have the 2110, but for now its nice to have the tach... and definitely the shifter is worth it... I remember 17... I would have definitely done the motor first then fixed everything else... now I play it safe get the rest of the car up to spec first then go fast :D
