Looking for a supplier for a stock camshaft for my 2.1.
Preferably in Canada or U.S. I noticed that there are US suppliers asking as much as $300 for one WOW.

Strega, Because of the high cost of new cams most rebuilders use a reground cam. I have about 10 reground cams in stock what number cam do you have, I have all my 1.9 cams reground to 2.1 specs. all cams sold exchange. They run about $40.00 your cam must be able to regrind no flat lobes. Thanks Rocky Email me rjebay@hscis.net

Why stock?

It takes a T1 cam... There are probably hundreds of grinds to choose from.

A few of which will work great with a vanagon. (almost stock for the EFI)
You could get away from the hydro lifters... Get some more lift and save the price of ratio rockers later.

Just nail a set of T1 rockers and use the Porsche adjusters.
(Probably a good idea in any case)

I have found that most valve adjustments are due to wear of the adjuster screws...

Emissions?
Just curious...

It takes a type 1 cam but only kind of. They obviously are not the same. They are also dished but you can swap oil pumps around to resolve that. I called Engle & they specifically told me that their cams would not work with Vanagon hydraulic lifters so you have to do something about that. They will custom grind anything you want however.

The cams will work with std solid T4 lifters...

Most people, expecially some engine builders, consider hydraulic lifters to be a very bad idea in a horizontal position: like in a vanagon motor.

Just trying to highlight a few of the many options available.

Use this boards search function---tons of info there.
