I am hoping that someone has a good sheetmetal part they would be willing to sell me.

What I need is the support that welds to the inside rear apron that holds the decklid catch. (sorry, I don't have a part number.)

It;s the bracket that sticks up from inside the engine bay just inside the lower opening. Mine is SO messed up...

Anyone have one for sale?

Or, if you just want it to latch w/o "purity" in mind, make a simple strike out of a steel bar, 1/4" round, that can be found at a hardware store for next to nothing. Bend it in a vise w/ or w/o heat. Spot weld to the bracket. Tap with a hammer for adjustment and you have a strong, locking deck lid. I used the deck lid lock with my glove box door and storage box behind the front seats and fab'd the strikes that way but out of stainless bar, so that all three locks plus the ignition could be keyed to the original Thing key. But if you need to stay stock, call Things Unlimited. Mike will treat you right.

Thanks nthang,

But it's the bracket that I need. That's the part that was crushed beyond use.

I'll contact Mike anyway.
