Howdy- I'm still knockin' away at my project- I'm now getting ready to install a new shiny black gas tank- but I've heard that you've got to clean it first- what do I clean it with??? thanks!

Jim I don`t know. Gasoline? Is it in cosmoline or something? Seems like anything from mineral spirits to laquer thinner would clean it up. Put in a gallon of gas and shake it up and drain. Repeat. Should be good to go. How bad can it be? Did you get it from So Cal Imports? They have good tech support. Best of luck. Bob Ingman

I just read somewhere that you MUST clean even a new tank before using it- so I didn't want to screw it up- I think I'll just run it through with some gasoline before I hook it all up- oh by the way, I was able to get new hard fuel line in stainless steel from a friend who owns a company that deals in surplus metals- the stuff looks great! Thanks for the reply.
