Hey Gang,
Does anybody happen to have a engine out of a syncro?
I'd like to know for sure if the mating surfaces on the transaxle is different than on a air cooled motor

thanks

Hi Hank,

It's the same as any late model 091 bus Trans....

Thanks for the reply Type V Joe,
But I'm not sure on the different ID #'s on the VW bus transaxles -ie: 050 or 091

What I'm trying to find out is does the 091 trans have the same engine mounting pattern as the rest of the air cooled VW transaxles?
thanks
hank

Yes, a bug motor will bolt up... 091's are used all the time with a bug motor / Type IV / Wasser.

The input shaft will need to be swapped to the shorter (002 bus) for a bug motor.
