I bought a pancake type 4 fan boot and adapter that the seller claims came from a 412. Can you verify the part numbers please?

Adapter: 021 119 609 A
Boot: 021 119 665 C

Thanks!
Monte

Thanks Single 60! That was more info than I thought was available!

If it's ok, can I share the pic you sent me with Tuna for his website?

The pic he has of the same parts are a little fuzzy:

The SB and FB used different parts, as you know, and the pix in the catalogs *May* be the same. They do look very much alike in the cartoons. I do have the "Right Stuff" at home and could add a pix to my site (or Tuna's) of the correct parts.

No I don't know! What are the differences?

The fastback versions and the squareback versions are totally different. The fastback versions have an angled wide variation. The wagon has one that is more similar to the type 3. If I can get to my storage unit tommorrow, I will see if I can get a part #. Ray

Cool, thanks Tom and Ray!
I just emailed Tuna a bunch of pics this weekend of the parts I just got (Type 4 fan hub and bellows) and how I thought it would be practical to use the uncut T4 bellows mated up with the Type 3 modified bellows to install a T4 engine into a T3 vehicle. The T4 bellows being made of unobtainum, I was trying to see if it could be used without modifications, and it looks like it could. Now I wonder if it can be used at all in a T3 squareback, I have the fan hub with the slight curve in it's shape.

I know this is off-topic for this forum, but I am talking about parts taken off a dead 412 years ago, not taking parts of a 411/412 restoration/resurrection candidate.

I wouldn't do that, honest!

Hmm,
I'd be very interested in this. I've got a T4 motor in my T3, and face the same issue.
I'm even thinking of fabbing something of my own. Please let us know how this turns out.

I would like to get a back up (back) fan boot for my '74 412 estate wagon. Was it determined that the part for the wagon was interchangeable with the type 3 or any other model? Thanks!

Though they look close, nothing on the 411/412 wagon bootsystem is interchangeable. The type 3 plastic part for the wagon could probably be used on the 411/412 wagon with some mods. the 2 and 4 door 411/412 is really different. Its flat, thin and angle upward.

Dang...some days i wish i would get fired. I have the ability to cast these boots. Just not the time. Maybe when Hit my vacation in November, I can produce a few of the parts on the back back burner. Ray

So will you open an online parts store? Anyway, I suppose I should be grateful that everything on my wagon is running smoothly right now, knock on "cracked dash", suppose I shouldn't look for trouble. I do want to get the dash restored and liner replaced. Money is putting those on my back burner right now. Steve
