$7500? I don't think so. If it has no rust and is complete....and I mean to the last detail, never been wrecked....and just needs refurbishing, perhaps a car like that might be worth $3-4K. From maine? Doubtful its rust free. Yes....the value of these cars will go high soon. I have been saying so for years. Why not? Its the last frontier of VW collecting. There are perhaps...250 (?) driving on the continent. The notchback type 3 in equal condition goes for an easy 3-4K....and they are relatively common in Canada and other places. And....the 412 is a better car.
Complete cars will be the expensive thing. People will start selling them for higher prices...regardless of how much $ is really needed to make them drivable on a daily basis. By that, I mean...that even if that car is factroy original, still operable, been garaged and massaged and really has 46K miles on it.....the suspension is junk. Even at "0" miles...the suspension and body seals are now junk. Its 30 years old. The suspension was barely adequate new. It will wear heavily in the first few thousand miles back on the road. Yep....get what you want now! Though, these are coming out of the woodwork in the last two years...like I said they would.....most are in poor shape, and the prices will go up. It is up to us...the consuming public, to help modulate the pricing. Ray

There is another 412 on Ebay real close to you Ray, It's a 2 door and it has some front end damage. The price is riht though, last time I looked it was 350.

Oh damn! It's happening again. I used to be interested in TVR's way back. None were worth over $10,000. NONE. Then they shot up incredibly, with rough Griffiths going for $25000, excellent ones like $50000-$60000 IIRC. Barring any unforseen problems, I'll be picking up that wrecked/engine-less 412 coupe, but it may be un-fixable yet. That one in Dallas looks decent actually-complete, runs and drives at least! Oh the possibilities...if only I had more resources...Oh darn, my finger slipped and I just bid on it!

What color is the one in Dallas? Sad part is....I cannot...and will not take on any other project cars until I finish the 412 I have. Mainly because it is too valuable in its completeness for me to dilute the effort by any means. The second reason....is that the car is in storage for a few months....and I live in a hotel basically

It's yellow. Pretty rough overall, but relatively complete and running. Looks like the brakes died and it was donated to the Salvation Army. I'll try my best to get it as well as the gold one I was looking at before. They actually are the perfect complement to each other as far as making a complete good car out of a combination of the two, though I hate to part out any...
