Oil leaks

I have oil seeping up around the mounting bolts on the oil filler, alternator holder, casting. Will replacing the gasket cure the problem or is there a sure way to eliminate the leak?
Nugget the gasket under the alternator stand is kind of unique. It has louvers that go downward into the case and face the flywheel(straight side of louvers). Use Permatex 3H on case surface and bottom of stand.
If your gasket is in proper orientation it serves as a baffle to direct oil downward away from the seam.
Before doing this insure that all four nuts are properly(evenly) torqued.
