Bob, Bob, Bob.. A guy yer age. Asking such a question. Chopped is to reduce the height of the windshield and lower the roof. Slammed is to lower the chassis to the pavement ( as in using bug front arms on a Thing). Next thing you know we will discuss the term to "channel" as in a 34 Ford Coupe that was "chopped and channeled". We used to call "slammed" lowered.. As long as we are discussing terms where did the term Samba.. orginate? I know what VW it refers to but where does it come from? K-mann

Kube I did`nt say I understood not. I was saying the two terms did not belong together in the same sentance.
When you chop a car (any car) you lower it. It is never chopped and raised. Thats a lot of work just to break even. Welcome back mr. co-pilot.

I must refute your post. You can reduce the windshield height and lift the chassis. Not sure why anyone would want to do such a Thing, but putting a chopped cab on a lifted frame would not create mechanical conflict. K-mann

I`m going to try again to say this in the most simplistic terms I know. Chopped and raised is stupid. They don`t go together. Chopped and slammed go together like biscuits and gravy.Chopped and raised go together like corn flakes and tomato juice. IMHO. Bob

Studid is as stupid does and I am the proof. After nearly 3 weeksoffline adnout offroad with cars Things VW etc I have seemed to lost my ability to read. Chopped and Raised is like stupid is as stupid does. In an attemped to catch up with over 400 messages in different areas I jumped to reply and did the ready fire aim approach to response...... GO low as in lowered, chopped, slammed or GO high as in lifted, raised or high travel but do not mix the two.. I stand corrected in my hasted I did not read very well.. K-mann

At least you coould reaplce the top and Windshield and windows to raise it back up or drop the suspension.

I've never seen a Baja Bug raised with a chop top.
