This one his Jake's Duel Spark Plug Head article that we wrote.

It should be an easy issue to spot- There is some goofball in a Polar Silver Oval being chased by a Black and White Police New Beetle on the cover. And now I know what the legendary Jake Raby looks like, as well...

When will you Interview John Connolly about the new German 39 gram lifters that he sells through his site? They are going to be the hot thing next year.

Also, the six stud under barrel CNC plate system that I am buying from Power Tuning in Germany is quite trick.

The Typ Vier scene is bustling.

Steve, you would have to take up with Dave or Ryan on those two things. They decide what goes in and out of VWT!
I agree, the Type IV scene will be very popular! I am glad to be a part of it!

Actually, John Connolly has about 4 or 5 pages in the July issue already; he and ACE VW dude Art Thraen teamed up on how to properly rebuild the Weber 48 IDA carb, along with some of Art's little tricks to make the IDA more streetable, such as the 3rd progression hole. If/when he wants to let us know about his 39 gram lifters, we're all ears. He is doing something with his CDI, I think his vacuum advance distributors, and an exhaust application chart, as well, for us. I don't know when that poor guy has a chance to sleep anymore.....

WOW!
I wish the mailman would hurry up and run, so I can see if my July issue is in there! I know, I wrote the Tech article, but it looks totally different then when you send it in!
You all don't start asking me questions about the Duel Spark Plug heads, you know who will answer them (Jake)! Yes I did write it, but I couldn't have done it without Jake Image
Now we just have to get the Type Iv series started and turned in Image

The benefit is you can six stud modify the heads and anchor hte extra studs into the plate without modifying the case (although it might need decking to clear the plates. .?). The six studding is required (most agree) on 103 bore heads even w/ low compression. I am buying heads w/ the 6 stud system 39 gram lifters, case, 964 cooling system, and some other stuff from Oliver for my 2599cc Type IV project.

Do the extra studs go in the larger off-set holes? Our desert motor was fifth studed by FAT and it was centered at the bottom of the cylinder. I don't see how you get much more holding power from a stud less than an inch away from an existing one.
