SS Headers & Valves

Howdy.
Our Thing has a set of SS type headers.. the dual mufflers clamp onto the exhaust studs.
Are we supposed to remove the exhaust nuts and front 3pt flange to adjust the valves -- or is there a trick to this with the exhaust on?
I believe this is a Thing Shop header system.... it directs through the bumper.

Bob...
Just as I thought... I've never seen a header system like this... wanted to ensure that nobody had created a method to do the valves that didn't require a complete remodel.
Now at least we all have ONE design mistake on our things.
Thanks

I have the same exhaust. It is not S&S, probably the Thing Shop's dual system. Adjusting the valves can be tough, BUT can be done without removing the system. I use a "right angle" style cheap screw driver. Don't remove the system until you spend some time working with the system in place. Bill

Actually the stock Thing exhaust, muffler etc allows valve adjustments just like a stock beetle.
