Greetings -
I am trying to run new fuel lines and could use someone to give me some insight on the best way to do this. It seems the thing i purchased, the rubber lines are MIA.
Thanks

Howdy...
Thanks for bringing this posting back to the forum (after private emails)
First check will be to ensure you don't have anything in your fuel lines and/or rust etc -- I've never needed to do this --- possibly someone smarter can help out with the how tos.
There are 2 places where the fuel lines to the "tunnel" (center hump down the car)... one goes from your gas tank -- to a metal tube that goes through your car... then a rubber line connects on the rear of the car to your filter... then to your fuel pump... then to your carb.
I'd shoot photos, but not confident I could put better pictures than a manual has in them.

An old school fuel line interior rasp is made form the interior cable of speedometer cable. You can hook the cable to n electric drill adm work your way about half way and then switch to the other end and go at it. When you get the cable through both ends you should put compressed airontot the fuel line to clear all the debris. Next I hook a section of fuel line ( I only use German cloth covered fuel line. The rubber American hose is not the correct size for a VW. The VW is metric and the rubber hose is English units. So a 3/16" hose is too small adn a 1/4" hose is far too big. VE fuel line shoud be 5 mm. and run clean gas through the line catching the gas adn the trash in container. This gas will be disposed of.. This will give you a clean fuel line. The most dependable place to buy real German fuel line is at http://www.oeveedub.com/
