Not exactly Type 4 related, but you guys have yet to steer me wrong so I figured I would float this one out there.
I won an auction on Ebay which ended on 7-4-04, over 2 weeks ago. As usual I immediately paid and contacted the seller asking for an approximate shipping date and a tracking number. I didn't hear anything so Friday the 9th, I e-mailed him again. His response was:
"recieved payment, item will be shipped shortly, thanks."
No problem. I e-mailed back and said that was fine and please provide me a tracking number. I never heard from him again. Last friday, I e-mailed him again with a slightly firmer tone and asked for a tracking number. After all it has been two weeks now. I also got his personal info from ebay (name and phone number).
When people pay me for something, I try to accomidate to the best of my abilities. I expect the same in return. Am I wrong for that?
I guess my question is, what should I do next. Should I e-mail him again incase the last one was not recieved? Should I call him? Any ideas.
Just a side note, I was the only one to bid, and I got the items for the opening bid price. In my opinion, the item went for a lot less that it could have. I'm wondering if this could be a factor.
Need some advise

Interesting that this should come up. How did you pay? If it's through paypal, you can file some sort of complaint/payment reversal form that tries to mediate any disputes. Also through ebay you can do this kind of thing too I think. Anyway, I was grossly negligent recently about sending something out for a couple of weeks, and the buyer did some of this stuff, and it kicked my sorry butt into action, so you should take action immediately! I guess I would say don't be an jerk because you never know what kind of circumstances the seller was dealing with, but make it clear you want your stuff or your money back.

If it actually gets shipped, it will be coming out of Washington to Virginia. That's probably at least 5 days of shipping, so giving the guy the benefit of the doubt, if he sent it sometime last week, it should be here by Friday. If it's not, I guess I'll turn the heat up a little. The one thing that I find wierd is the number of times I asked for a tracking number, and he never sent one. And then not even responding to my last e-mail. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't even question weather he's going to honor the deal or not. It just starting to smell a little fishy.

I called the guy's house today. He wasn't home so I talked to his dad. Apparently the seller is a college kid. The dad told me he was all over it. 10 minutes later he calles me back and tells me that his son sent it out 2 days ago. A few minutes later, the son sends me an e-mail apologizing and assuring me he sent the package out on Wednesday. It's coming from Washington to Virginia, so it will be the middle of next week before I find out if all that was true or not.
I don't mind the wait, what gets me is not knowing. If he had just told me that he couldn't send it out for a week or two, that would have been alright. I guess it doesn't matter as long as I get my stuff.
