Power Loss
Coming home from the Cruise In the other night, in my 412, my lights were real dim, my brights stopped working and my tape player was dragging, BUT NO INDICATOR LIGHT for battery or Gen...... Wonder if my regulator is bad?

Yes, it could be a regulator. Check the contacts within. It could also very possibly be a ground problem on one of the straps.
Also I keep forgetting about this for everyone. Nows a good time
Warning! Warning! Warning!
There is a problem that happens on either 411 or 412. It can kill your main power and blow the main fuse...while driving....and not allow you to even have emergency flashers. Almost got killed in my first 411 this way in a tunnel.
The main light switch, has a bezel or aluminum nut that holds it in the dash. When you pull out the light switch...or the flasher switch...or any switch...you will notice a slot of notch in the end of it. That corresponds to a pair of dents...or knobs on either side of each hole drilled in the dash. It keeps the switch properly oriented.....so it will not slip sideways....and contact metal on the wires...
Get my drift? So if you have the lightswitch loose....for any reason, your hand must be up under the dash to make sure the switch is properly aligned until the aluminum nut is 90% screwed in and the slot contacts the knobs to keep it from turning. The light switch when it rotates clockwise...will contact metal at the 9:00 position..shorting out the whole system....if you are lucky. If the fuse somehow does not blow...or you have stupidly put in a 30 amp fuse...it will cause a fire. If the at main fuse blows in your car...say mysteriously...about once or twice a year, you have interemittant metal contact already at this point. Fix it. Ray
