Anyone have their engine out?

I have an engine change coming up soon and will have access to shop space for a very limited time. I must work rapidly and efficiently to get the job completed in a day including the trans swap.
Since I have recently lined most of my interior with sheet aluminum I was hoping to carry the theme into the engine compartment.
I`m hoping someone has an empty engine bay at this time and would be willing to make up a paper pattern and send it to me. That way I can have the sheet stock cut and finished ready for installation at time of swap.
Anyone able to help? Thanks. Bob Ingman

Bob, you are running a Type I again? Is this a different car?

LB no not a T-1. Still T-4 but the third one. Last year while you were away(I think) I removed my uprighted T-4 engine from the thing because a friend of my sons just had to have it for his 356 replicar. His offer was too good to refuse so I reluctantly let it go .I installed it into the 356 and it was a good deal (for him). I used the money to do suspension and chassis upgrades saving enough to purchase an 1800cc bus engine and 5-rib transaxle.
My attitude was ,been there done that. I was not wanting to go to the expense of uprighting again and felt that if I set the car up for stock T-4 cooling I could always obtain running bus and 914 engines. So thats what I did.
Not too long ago I located a very nicely put together 2056 from a 914 that was being converted to 6 cyl and made the purchase. It still has the WebCam as before, still have Dells but 40s this time as opposed to 36s before. Recurved 09 which I may eventually convert to late elect ignition.
So all in all I have gained a bit of displacement but have nearly the same engine. I have a bay bus to put the current engine into as well.
Not to worry. T-4ever. Bob Ingman

That sounds great Bob. I guess you are really liking the power of the type IV's cant wait to try mine out. So far it seems stock cooling is the way to go for at least an offroad Thing. Saves lots of money and makes for an easy swap as a used bus is so cheap. I will post some pics of my project soon. Want to get some things sorted out first.

LB something to think about. Years ago (shows my age does`nt it?) I had a baja that was lifted in the rear only. The back of the body was raised enough to allow a three inch high wedge to be installed. Tapering to the front where no body lift was needed. Quick and easy way to space rear up off pan and not have to get into the complications of steering seating etc. Good luck. Bob Ingman

Hey Scott. What I have in mind is the firewall(forward bulkhead) and any other flat surface suitable to lining with flat sheet. I have plenty of stock and looking to use it up. What do you think? Bob Ingman
