Eberspracher mouting bolts

Post by 67 T1 »

Went to the local VW dealership today. They said that the mounting bolt, as I described it, fit a bunch of vehicles, all the way up to Quadra (spelling?), same part number anyway. Problem is these things are $9 a piece. Of course they had none in stock for comparison, so I only ordered one. Probably another wasted $9.
I realize this post is not too significant, but I've checked three times today and no one had posted anything, so I just had to say something.

Just go to the junkyard. These are all over water cooled cars. Fuel pump and filter brackets, radiator and air filter mounts..etc. They are just anti-vibration bushings. Not even 100% necessary for that heater. Ray

67 T1 there is a place called Pull A Part here in Birmingham, one of those You Go Yank The Parts Yourself places.

They have 7 80's model Golf Listed
10 80's through 91 Jettas
1 91 Passat
1 1974? Dasher (might be a 412)
2 Fox
1 84 Vanagon
8 Rabbits

I think you might find some hardware there.
I go by there once a week and take what hardware I might need as well as checking out the new stuff they just got in.

Here is the Web Site

I've got an all points bulletin out to my VVA counterparts on where some good local VW retirement homes are at. There is a shop that works on old VW near by that has several junkers. I need some fuel line as well, forgot to get some on my last order.

For the last two days I've been working on my extra hood. Ruff sanded, smooth sanded, primed, sanded, primed, flat black, sanded, flat black. One more coat then I'll join Stein.
