These two 411 squares turned up at the 2004 Spa Francorchamp bug show in Belgium I visited on 8/8/2004:

I thought, you all might like some pics of non-standard ones :)

Nice to see.

Just wait, more of these cars will appear in the future.
Simply the most comfortable annd luxary aircooled VW ever build.
And who would a few years ago belived that the bay busses would ever be hot.......and now they are.

Let us see some other good examples of modyfied, but not destroyed type fours.

I like the brown/BRM wheel combo, very nice. The Fuchs look hot on that first one, I wonder how wide the rears are?

I' am almost certain they are deep dish (as in non-tubeless) 6"x15 ones front and rear.
He probably couldn't find any tubeless ones

Nice cars, although wagons all lowered and tricked out dont do it for me.

Its like taking an american wagon and trying to do the same thing, just looks sorta goofy. I just dont get it Image

Those are nice. I have been contemplating the BrM wheels. I think they look good. Wagons are a different philosophy in Europe. There is no stigma in driving one....as long as its a hot performer. Take a look at the Audi Avis. All wheel drive...400+ hp. I had one blow my doors off last year....looked bad-ass...from what I could see of the rear end  .

I think very mild lowering (more like straightening) and good wheels....and thats all...is good for the looks of the wagon. I agree that "tricking" them out....is just wrong on some level. Maybe its just that all of the tricked out wagons I have seen in pictures....like that metallic green pannelled 412 thing....were just too way over the top, non-funtional (in my opinion) low rider, show vehicles. I was considering the BRM's also. Looks pretty good.

I'm all for leveling the car out, but lowering beyond driveability is a stage I'm gladly grown out of. I like the stance of those two cars, but not at the expense of the comfort or saftey. If they got them to sit like that and still keep the factory ride, I'd like to know how.

Neither of those cars have been lowered. Notice the nose high attitude of the green one..and also slightly low in the rear? Probbaly doesn't look all that bad due to a full trunk and the two fat dudes in the front.

The wheel well spacing of the brown one looks just like my 412. I would bet the brown one is not nose high, simply due to a full trunk or the installation of late 412 struts. That alone drops the front end of a 411 about 14mm. Take a look at the rear wheel well spacing on these. That is what you get standard with a 205/60-15. Just minor lowering in the front to bring the car level, and application of better than stock wheels will give the affect that those two have.

My car handles much, much , much ,much better than stock. The 205/60-15's with a 5.5 rim at stock offset are a huge change. The minor lowering plus a castor angle change in the front was also huge. Ray

That's wierd. Mine looks about 1" higher in the back and about 2" in the front.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that mine has been jack stands for about a year.

The very highest performance Audis ike the RS4 and RS6, at first, came only in Avant (wagon) only form. They were total beasts, freakin' insane! I think the new ones come in a sedan, but it shows you how serious they are about wagons in Europe.
I was putting together a set of "top secret" Porsche wheels for one of my 412's, but I might have to sell those now as I need a truck or van. :(

Yeah...like that metallic pea-green 412 that was slammed. Don't get me wrong....I greatly appreciate the workmanship that went into that one....but it greatly reminds me of that 1974 Ford Gran Torino wagon my parents had. Same pead green paint....and butt-ugly plastic wood on the side.
Makes me want to vomit just thinking about it. Sorry...probably showing my age...but other than a little music...I find nothing to be real nostalgic about towards the 70's. The clothes were uncomfortable....everyones hair was greasy....there was no working zit medicine on the market yet...so we really were greasy....the cars had lousey emmissions equipment on them......nothing but vietnam, censored movies and Ed sullivan re-runs on the TV. But....some of the cars were nice 8) . Well....some of the foreign cars were nice  Ray

Im lucky, I was a toddler/kid/preteen in the 70's to young to have zits, Mr Rodgers was my favorite show (seeing as we had only 5 stations), and my Parents owned a 65 IMPALA...... I think it had a 6000cc engine and got 4 mph.

Nope, more obscure, The rims are 15X5.5" ET 30 Porsche alloy spare wheels. (Phone dials would be awesome though, I've thought of them)

You can see them on this 912:

I believe this crew is wearing them here, even though the pic is hard to see:

(Though the ones on the bus might be the similar 928 steel spare wheels, hard to tell...)
