I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warning to everybody. Do not underestimate the power of a hurricane! Last year we got hit pretty hard when Isabell hit and it was only a catagory 2. we were going to ride it out untill a 60ft pecan tree in our back yard split in 2 and fell over (away from the house fortunately). I'll never forget the sound it made  . After that we packed up and left. When we came home the next day, this is what we found.

Every time I think about it, I'm so glad we were not in there. Everyone be careful and just get out of Ivan's way.

Oh yea, and take your type 4 with you :D .

They are saying by the time it gets to Montgomery (where 67T1 is) Winds will still be between 100 to 120 MPH!

By the time it gets to where I am in Birmingham they say between 70 and 100 mph! And we are 250 miles from the coast!

I was at Ft. Lee VA when Isabell hit. Sitting for 6 days in a hotel with no power, no candles, no flashlight, talk about suck-fest.

Found out today that I am considered 'essential personnel'. Sounds pretty cool until you realize that it means you have to come in for work, regardless.

Thanks for the regards. We're battoning down the hatches.

How's it goin!?

Hey everyone ok up that way? It didnt look good in the Pensicola area with the bridge being pushed out like a deck of card! My Sister in Pace had debrie and a big oak fall but in between the houses! The Winn Dixie lost its roof and the Civic Center had some damage as a shelter! You see that ac unit take out the two door cutlass? Makes you see how bad it could have been if more people didnt leave the area! Hope everyone is safe and sound!!! Bill

Just got my power back, we took gusts up to 70 here, just south of Birmingham. I lost 2 trees, other than that we are OK

All, Montomgery AL was not hit all that hard. Our coastal areas took a beating though, many places just totally washed away.
I'm working in our Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for the next few days. We put troops on the ground to dispense supplies provided by FEMA and to provide security to devastated regions.
My home was not damaged at all, thank goodness. All my VWs were unscathed.
I saw a convoy of about 50 'bucket' trucks from Canton, Ohio rolling through town today going to the areas hardest hit. Thanks Ohio.

Good News.!
