Please help an indigent out here.
I have installed the rebuilt tranny, installed the engine, hooked the wiring. Got to the point of doing those 'nice' things, replaced the oil filter, filled with oil, then decided to replace all fuel lines.
I have the progressive webber carb (I think), so I'm running the fuel line, and there is no pump?? The line goes from the chassy to the carb (with an in-line fuel filter I installed), no pump?? Where is the dang fuel pump?
Is the pump part of the carb? see picture below
Panzerace 88, name of pic is "where's the fuel pump"

That is the progressive setup and there is definately not a built in fuel pump. I have a purolator electric fuel pump in mine that I got from Advance Auto for about $30. I've been using them for years and have had little trouble with them. I have mine mounted under where the air cleaner tray is. A more preferrable location would probably be right under the gas tank.
Did your car not have one before?

Under the fuel tank you say?
Have not gotten under the front end yet.
I cranked the car several times prior to rebuild, so I knew that it was getting fuel one way or another.
I've still got type 1 mentality about fuel. And what about those huge type 4 fuel lines, jimminy cricket. They're as big as the fuel line for my 5.9 ltr Dodge!
thanks.

STOOOOOOOP! STOP nOW! If you don't have a fuel pump in the rear of the car....and you are getting gas when you turn the key...you have a fuel pump from the fuel injection up front. It is about 60 times too big for a carb. It will literally either pop the lines or totally pump your carb full...including the manifolds...with fuel. That will light you on fire quick!
Get a small purolator fuel pump like suggested...or a facet fuel pump.
By the way..why did you scrap the injection? You are going to hate the progressive. They run like sh*t. Ray

Ray, not me brother, the PO did it.
I think he may have had an engine fire. After thoroughly cleaning my Eber, got it hooked back in place, put the engine in, I went top side to work on the wires from the Eber. They were cut at the firewall and the outter wrap was crisp and black.
The PO had taken it to some Porsche dealership in Hotlanta, I suppose that's where the progressive came from.
I'll check the fuel pump before doing anything else concerning fuel. Thanks for the heads up.
