Check out the engine deck lid, appears to be in great shape. Only $500. Five speed manual?? counting reverse?? Possibly a Porsche tranny??

Well I might get my BIL in Maine to go check that out for me! Have him part it out up there and send me the parts UPS.

This guy had it for sale a couple months ago for $900. He never returned anyone's e-mail*.
* He didn't return mine, and at least one other person said the same thing. I don't remember which forum or who, but I remember Ross VW and I remember the solo, off-centered bumper guard.

Lowered the price $400?
How about this 5 speed manual. Thoughts. My manual is a four speed.

Yes, I recall that he didn't return anyone's e-mail, but I never tried. I doubt it has a 5 speed, probably just a mistake. I think it's a great price, just a long way to pick it up, plus I have so many already, still too much... is never enough....

It looks too good to be a parts car

Note, he still has it at 900 at his personal page. Sounds like it's on clearance now

Maybe parts car is right, he also posted at type4.org see below. I just hate to see too many of these parted out. I would rather see more on the road
AD from type4.org includes
"1974 412 Coupe in the Northeast"
I hate to sell this car as a parts/restoration candidate, but I think the metal on the underside has a few too many weak spots...

Its nice looking. The 5 speed thing is probably a typo. The floor pan rot is no biggy unless its all around the edges or at the rear suspension mounting point. If its just in teh center of each pan area...just weld in square patches. Ray
