front suspension

hi there
ive recently bought a 1968 411.the front suspension is what you might call useless.
could anyone point me in the direction of some new or good used springs and strut inserts.or better still some struts.
ive spent a fair old while looking and just end up coming to dead ends.
any help in my quest would be much appreciated

A 1968? Are you sure of the year..and what is your location? Also...define useless. Unless its very rusted and damaged, the springs should be fine. Unless...the trunk was full of tons of weight and it sat for years and years. Usually, what you are experiencing is bad bushings everywhere and bad strut cartridges. You will need center link, radius arm bushings and centering rings, new control arm bushings, new idler bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends and upper strut bushings.
Most of this is not available, but iss sourcable. Do a search for writing on this within this forum. If you cannot find them, I will repost some of them. In the next month or so, I should be offering most of these bushings cast of urethane and teflon, rebult centerlinks, a replacement strut cartridge configuration and possibly ball joint assemblies. Hello there and welcome to the forum. Your suspension problem is common to our cars in varying degrees. I am also pretty new here and am learning something new every day about these unique vee dubs of ours. Untill the heavy guns chime in to give you a more detailed answer, In the meantime, I highly recommend that you search the archives for " suspension" or "struts" or "ball joints". There a lot in there to read and learn, also an alternative design is on its final stages and we are all waiting. Right Ray?
