Well, I got a hankering to put together a different set of Porsche alloy spares for one of my cars after selling the 15x5.5's. This time, I found a 16X5.5" with a new 195/50 16 Kumho Ecsta 711 already mounted on ebay, woohoo! Now I just need 3 more...and convert to a Porsche bolt pattern.
I'd like to polish these, I think they would look sharp as hell.

Hey, are those what they call wagen wheels? Those would look nice!
Do they have a different center spacing? I guess I mean will they make the tire sit different? Wider or closer ? bill

I run a set of steel wheels from a 914 on mine. They look nice. I'll get some pictures later but it is snowing today and there is no way the 412 is seeing the outside of the garage for a photoshoot.

How do you plan on changing the bolt pattern? I've got some drums/rotors I'd like to get drilled myself but can't seem to find a competent shop.

Have you guys tried RIMCO in Santa Ana, CA? They offer rotor/drum drilling. Another source would be FAT Performance, in Orange, CA.

I have the same style Porsche alloy spare in a 15x5.5 (I too planned on making a set someday)...never seen one in 16", cool! I've seen the new cars come with 17" spares that also look similar.

No kidding? Sorry man. This is 16X5.5" ET30. Yeah, whenever the cashflow resumes, I'll try to get another three. It may be awhile... Ah, yes the Pelican Parts forums! I am signed up. That's where I got some of my old set of the 15 X 5.5" alloy spares that I had (silver-the style with the round holes). Yep, this "Weltmeister" looking alloy spare comes in 15, 16, and 17" at least. I know there are even bigger alloys spares, but I don't know what they look like. The advantage of these is that they are big and narrow. Where else can you get an alloy wheel that is 16 X 5.5"? I've thought about the 17 X 5.5's, but I'm not sure what tire could work on there. I think a 195/40 17 might still be too wide, plus they're hard to get in the states. To get something narrow enough, you'd have to go to bias ply... As far as the durability of these lightweight spares, I'm not sure, only time will tell. Maybe they'll bend like they're made of bubble gum?

Bowman- are those the steel wheels that have 4 radiating "spokes" that start at the center? Those do look good on these cars!

Oh, since I have a machine shop about 30ft. from my house, I was going to ask those good ol' boys to do it, but I'm not sure they'll understand what I am trying to do... I may have to go with one of those big-name places that tuna suggested...

Still got them? Want to sell them? I need a set of cheap 5x130's for when I get the 944 brakes on my Ghia, but it likes a relatively large offset.

Unfortunately, I sold them when I was buying my house as I needed the cash. Those are sweet, though! Virtually nobody is running them.

Oh vwbill, as far as getting them to fit redrilled front 412 rotors, I'm not really sure... The center bore on the Porsche wheels is smaller. Maybe the hub centering flange/lip in the center of the disc can be turned down? I'm not sure if there is enough material there, I'll have to do some measuring. I'd rather not alter the wheels themselves in this case, they are already somewhat fragile looking. I guess I'll have to do some asking at the germanlook.com forums, some of those guys will probably have an idea.
