Hello Rocky,

As you have a very good experience in gearboxes also I would like your help.

I remove a ZF LSD from a 1978 single side cover trans and I would like to put it in my 1975 single side cover trans (both are 181s).
Is it required to heat the ring to install it ?
How much torque is needed to the ring bolts ?
Also how much in the side conver bolts ?
Diff has two clips (one of each side I have to use the one that came with lsd or from my box ?

I am apologize for all these questions !

Thank you,
Jim Andritsakos

Jim do you have a without guesswork book? It was a factory book given to all the mechanics at the dealerships back in the 70s it has a lot of info. in it . If not I will look it up on monday. I heat my ring gears. 45 lbs on most ring gear bolts. 15lbs on thr side covers. not sure about the clips. Rocky
