SCC case differences ?

Post by Mikel Eastwood »

just a quickie :

I look around some ssc trans cores and some have 113 301 103 "K" and some other 113 301 103 "L" (this is the main trans housing. Is there any better / worst of the other or just the same ?

Thanks!
Mike

I am in a hurry as I have to decide which of two I will keep until early monday morning.

Thanks for your understanding and help.

On the ones I looked at in the shop, the "k" is the 75 and later, the "L" is the earlier ssc case.If all things are equal as far as condition of the cases,I would use the later one.It has some extra ribbing almost like mini gusseting

Thank you very much kcr

As I you are a very expert professional may ask another question ?

If you remove a zf lsd from scc case to put in in another one case (scc) what I have to take extra care ?

thank you very much

PS Weird than a older part # has a latter letter code isn'it ?

Yes I thought the letter thing was wierd too.You would think the opposite, but not to be.Changing cases and diffs, etc depends on your skill level. If you're not set up to properly setup the r/p backlash and bearing preload,I would use the bearings, races, shims, and side cover from the trans with the r/p you want to use.Install the r/g on the ZF and install, hopefully everything will set right up.Good luck.

Thank you for the rapid response !
Is there a book/manual to buy to learn how to set it up correctly ?

Thank you,
Mike
