Sweet Toys!

Post by vwbill »

Oh Yeah, she's a sweety!! You have the setup! You have the campmobile and the cruizer! I love the popup you have! I always had the angled ones. Need to put a big bore in the van and a hitch and you can go play anywhere! Those vans can go anywhere! Does the four door have ac? Man I wanted ac sometimes in the desert! Sweet rides and now if you get the two door into a rally screamer you have all the toys, lol! bill

Yes the White car had AC until the previous owner ripped it out along with the heat and threw it away "because he didnt understand it"!!!!!! :?

the 4 door is wifey's, so she can toodle around with the kids to club events and the 2 door is mine to beat up on all the ac beetle owners with!

The Camper is for all of us when the kids are a little older and can go camping with us.

The Brown van is for shock value when I pass people on the interstate
doing 85

The truck, heck I need something to bring home pine bark mulch in!!

the Golf is for real comfortable driving!

Gotta have one for every purpose! 8) Now if only VW made something that could tow 1000 miles with a 3500lb. trailer... Now, I saw an early Vanagon that recently appeared in a local farmer's field that looks complete and straight. If it was watercooled, that could open up some engine swap possiblities. Too bad the transaxle probably couldn't take much abuse. I forgot which Vanagon place it is (I have the bookmark somewhere) that does a small block Chevy swap with a Porsche G50 transaxle! Can you imagine blowing by people up hill towing a trailer with a Vanagon?!

Any pics of the new car yet?

Those guys in Europe and South Africa are crazy! I think there is even a pic on thesamba.com of Adrian Pienaar from S.A. towing a bus with his 412? I like this VR6 powered Vanagon from Germany:

VR6's aren't too terribly expensive these days. 8)

Didn't someone have a T4 in that color he called Goldmember?

Mine was resprayed about 10 years ago by one of those cheapy places by the PPO, and it's a really SUCKY BAD job  Other than that, the car's great, and I envy your white respray over gold :x

Hey, was White ever a factory color for T4's?

The gold is actually one of the most common colors in the mid-73 through 74 models. I have seen more of those than almosy any color except alaska blue metallic. The gold has a tendecny to burn off very quick..so many of them that still drove...got repainted. Ray

Yes White was an option, But from what I have seen Gold was what everybody wanted.

There is an insane turbo VR6 Golf/GTI II drag car that is named "Goldmember" with a very '70's Gold paint job.
