Whatever happened to 67T1????

Post by DeathBus »

I got an email from him congratulating me on getting a Type 4 catagory for my clubs show this year http://centralalvwclub.com/2005classes.html

but thats all I have heard from him. He never posts here anymore either. Did his tranny rebuild totally brake him off these cars?????

Just been lurking. I'm finishing up a rebuild on my blue bug and have been concentrating on T1's.
The usual excuses, work has been hell lately, trying to devote more time to my local club, yada yada.

After the tranny overhaul, I tried working on front suspension, but after reading the posts on that, got busy with my daily driver blue bug (father - son project). I realize, these are all excuses and not a single good reason. I'll try and pop in more often.

Hey DB, want to buy my extra 412? still has FI, and MANUAL tranny.

parter or projecter?

Post by vwbill »

Is that a project car or parts car guys? Maybe we could go in it together? I'm sure I could use a tranny, lol! So can everyone else,l0l!
Maybe we could get it to Ubercraps for some parts, lol! Sorry to jump in there when the issue was how was 67 T1! Glad to hear about the father son bug project! Sounds like you are one busy guy! Hope its all fun, Bill

Thanks Bill. It's definitely not a parts car. A little elbo grease and it could easily be a driver (with the normal precautions that Ray has pointed out in regards to front suspension and tranny prep, etc.) EC engine with FI in place.

Naw, not running. But, I've done nothing to it. The guy I bought them from was the son of the owner. The old man just got too old to drive. He had owned them from the 80's. The one I'm retaining was 3K on a rebuild from about 5+ yrs back.
I'll post a couple of more composite pics on thesamba. The drivers side has spot rust (some pin holes) on fenders, drivers door is shot at the bottom (rust). EC engine still in orignal config. I've not notice any real dings or past accident damage. Doesn't have CVs. While redoing the other 412, I had to use both sets ( 8 ) to get one good set (4).
