That sucks. The rest of the car looks nice, though!

Well one of my friends is coming over in a little while, we will see what the verdict is on welding it.

What you cant see from the pictures of the car is that most of the paint has burned away from it sitting for so long, sorta has that Cali Rat look.

You gotta expect it to be deteriorated after 32 years of weathering I guess. Sunlight ravages everything. :(

The bumper still looks pretty good, still shiny after all that weathering.

You cant see the pitting on the bumper in the pics, but it does surprise me how well it has stood up.

:EDIT:

My buddy came by, I am going to take the tank and get it dipped next week, he said we should be able to fix it, he is also going to try and fab a tank!!!!! I will keep everyone updated.

Forgive the lack of imagination, I can't tell if that tank rust is on the bottom or top... :?

I was afraid you'd say that. Now I have to examine the top of my 412's tank to be sure it's not rusted up there. How in blazes did it rust up there?

I would say condensation over the millennium with little or no fuel in the tank.

If you don't mind me asking, where in Louisiana did that car come from? That style of LA inspection sticker hasn't been used in 15 years or more...and I remember a 2-door 412 like that in Ruston when I went to La. Tech many moons ago...
