VW 411 exhaust with damper pipe

I recently picked up two NOS mufflers with damper pipes for my 72 411 sedan. One set exits to the driver's side and hte other exits to the passenger side. Which one is 'origional' for my vehicle? thanks!

In general....most are seen to exit to the right, right under the heater tailpipe. Bur I have also seen both on the cars, from the dealer in photographs. The fit is the same, as there is not cut-out necessary for either. Take your pick. Ray

yes ray ,, for the 411 car ,on some model you have too , medle exit , with damper pipe on the lefght side ,,on my 412 i have this model , very silencer ,,,albert
