I'm running a '70 1200 at the moment, I've put a 1600 engine in & am about to add an adjustable beam with a sway bar & a camber compensator in the rear with a traction bar. I'm installing a new set of kybs all round & think I'll drop the car 2.5" all round once the beam is in.

I have a few sets of wheels available to me.
Standard 4 lug: 4 - 4.5x15 & 2 - 5.5x15
Empi 8 spokes: 4 - 5.5x15
8 spoke chromes: 2 - 6x15 & 2 - 8x15

Which would you suggest & what sort of tire sizes, the car is my daily driver but I like to give it some stick, I intend going to some of the local track days next year when I get things a bit more sorted.

Any advice taken on board, I'm looking for the car to handle well & not just in a straight line, although I do frequent the strip on the odd occasion.

I think a 6 or 8 inch wide wheel might hang out of the fenders a bit, which could make for some bad rubbing or cuts. The 5.5 wide wheels could be a snug fit, but with a 195/50 up front it they should just clear (although you may need to do a little massaging on the fender lip). In the rear you have more room, so you could go to a 205 or 215.. Offset plays a large roll in this - so you may want to do some measuring to make sure that doesn't bite you.

Thanks for the reply eric, I have the empi 8s on at the moment & they came with 195/50s, for the rear 205 or 215s what profile would I go for 205/50 - 215/50.
