Hehe, thanks. It's a rare convergence of circumstances that has allowed me to do this, one of which is very cheap property in this area. If I was in Cali, I'd probably be living in a van down by the river! I hope more serious work on the cars can start in the next 6-9 months- praying to the federal reserve gods that the economy holds up for awhile longer... :?

Very cool pic indeed! You must really like the Coupés

That pillar rust is very ..euh...drastic. Never seen that before. One would almost think its a sunroof leak (if it were a sunroof model which I think it isn't).

Thanks,
Walter

Still got one more to get. I made a banzai run down there and had very little extra time. I am definitely worn out. Next time, I am going to try to make some plans to take a long weekend, then we could have an awful waffle (not sure what that is, but I likes me a good cheap breakfast?).

Wow, that's some nice digs for a car guy!! I wouldnt be able to leave and you'd find me asleep under a 412,lol!! That rust does look like it would be from a sunroof! Think it was just from condensation inside running down the inside liner and roof? If you want to part from a manual gear box without the bell housin I'd help you out with that parting and some good bucks! I doubt you would want to part with that kinda thing but keep me in mind! I just wonder if its even shipable via usps or ups? thx Bill

It just so happens that I have what you need. What do you think a fair price is? I'll check on the shipping.

Hey Uber, wow that sounds sweet! I wonder how much shipping will be? I was hoping the bell housing came off and would make it alot lighter and cheaper to ship! I dont know how much it should cost man! Maybe once you get a ship est. we can figure that out! Thanks again! Bill

Well, the 4spd. transaxle has 2 parts, the rear section is the bellhousing and contains the final drive, while the forward section has the gears. Ray says you can swap these sections between transaxles. I have that spare transaxle with the corroded bellhousing and broken front plate, but since everything turns smoothly, I suspect the gear section is good still. I will have to open up the access plate to check that everything is at least visually OK.
